Comment Moderation Policy

Before making a comment, please read the moderation policy below.

This website is intended to engage with members of the public about our current projects. Moderation is intended to ensure that comment and debate is respectful of others and will not be used to suppress legitimate comments on the issues raised.

We will normally publish comments so long as they:

  1. respect others;
  2. aren’t malicious or offensive and do not attack another person’s character;
  3. don’t incite hatred on the basis of any personal characteristic, including on the basis of race, gender, marital or domestic status, disability, sexuality or age;
  4. don’t include swearing or use inflammatory or obscene language;
  5. don’t reveal personal details, such as private addresses and other contact details;
  6. don’t identify matters that are currently the subject of legal proceedings or would break a court’s non-publication order;
  7. don’t break the law or give rise to civil liability, for example, defame a person, condone illegal activity or break copyright;
  8. are reasonably concise and are not spam;
  9. don’t advertise commercial products or services;
  10. don’t impersonate or falsely represent a person or organisation;
  11. are relevant to the topic being discussed; and
  12. are not party political in nature.

We reserve the right not to publish any comment and may suspend discussions at any time.

If we choose not to publish a comment, we may reply by e-mail explaining our reasons and suggest changes so that it can be published.

If you would like to have your comment removed from the blog, please contact the moderator.
